"I like that Telavox is creative and tries to find the most cost-effective solution."

About the company
Proton Group is a privately owned industrial group with companies in four business areas where more than 400 employees work. The head office is located in Värnamo. Proton Group is active in industries such as the automotive industry, lighting and lighting solutions for public environments, machine safety and surface treatment for the automotive, construction and engineering industries.
The challenge
Proton was stuck with an outdated business switchboard and needed a more efficient solution to save both time and money.
“We had an older version that was based on old technology and was also very expensive. We had to upgrade to keep up,” says Andreas Magnusson, IT Manager at Proton.
Saw big benefits in switching suppliers
Andreas has a good understanding of the process of telephony procurement from previous experience.
“I saw great benefits in switching providers. I have been involved in implementing telephony solutions before with mixed results and learned a lot from it. Therefore, I knew what we were looking for this time”, says Andreas.
He began to scan the market and took quotes from most of the operator giants as well as Telavox.
“Many operators offer basically the same platform that they buy from a subcontractor. So basically we compared Telavox’s platform against Mitel’s that most others offer,” says Andreas.

The solution
Proton chose Telavox, which could offer an affordable flexible overall solution and good packaging. Proton fell for the interface and the simplicity of managing the platform. They have also saved thousands of dollars by switching providers.
“Since we switched to Telavox, our telephony expenses have decreased by 40 percent. I like that Telavox is creative and tries to find the most cost-effective solution for us. For example, not everyone at the company needs smartphones. About a hundred employees only need button phones. Telavox doesn’t push at all costs, but thinks about what the customer really needs,” says Andreas.
It is possible to penetrate the sheet metal roof
Proton operates in the manufacturing industry and is spread across ten different sites. The metal roof is always a challenge in the manufacturing industry where it is difficult to get a functioning mobile coverage.
“We received very good support here. Telavox implemented mobile enhancement in several premises with the help of an external expert company. The coverage has improved a lot but it will never be perfect. But thanks to the help, it works well now,” says Andreas.
Andreas Magnusson, IT Manager at Proton Group, appreciates that as a customer he has a voice all the way into Telavox’s development department and has the opportunity to influence.
The result
Andreas was very pleased with the Telavox onboarding. Proton had prepared well and executed an IT strategy that described all the steps up to the cloud.
“We received great support from Telavox throughout the transition. For the individual, it was just a matter of switching subscriptions. Step two was learning how to use the app, which is extremely user-friendly,” says Andreas.
Got good support throughout the onboarding
Telavox was also physically present during parts of the onboarding to support and ensure that everything went as smoothly as possible.
“We were helped to build the menu options around the central cloud switchboard which drastically reduced the manual work of routing calls,” says Andreas.
Proton also appreciates Telavox support where all customers are assigned a personal Customer Success Manager.
“We have a personal Customer Success Manager who always provides fast and good service. In addition, the support feels tailored to our specific needs. We can ask about anything from how to connect voice mail to hardware. Hardware is not really Telavox’s area, but we get support and good tips on phone models anyway,” says Andreas.
Developing according to customer needs
Andreas estimates that Telavox develops everything on its own with the help of a development department of a hundred people.
“We have been involved in meetings with Telavox and had the opportunity to provide wishes and feedback regarding the app. For example, we now want to do an AD integration with Microsoft Azure. It was a requirement on our part to have a software provider that could make it possible to talk to our other systems,” says Andreas.
