About the company

Stockholm Pride is a non-profit and member-driven organization whose purpose is to make LGBTQ issues visible and create a free zone for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people and the gender expressions that exist within the LGBTQ movement. The Stockholm Pride festival is organized annually and has been the largest Pride festival in the Nordic region since 1998. All work with the festival is done on a voluntary basis.

Stockholm Pride is an entirely non-profit organization. For a long time, volunteers used their private phones and subscriptions in the organization. But for security reasons, this was something that Daniel and the rest of the management wanted to change.

Safer engagement with the Telavox number solution

Daniel works as an information security specialist at Microsoft, and he quickly realized that the old way of working was not up to scratch from a security perspective.

“There is a vulnerability that comes with being involved in LGBTQ issues and there have been times when our volunteers have received nasty calls at night. We needed a better solution for our communication, so that people don’t have to use their private numbers,” he says.

In a voluntary organization, work roles and commitments are often more fluid than in a company, which places different demands on telephony and communication.

“Since not all volunteers are active all the time, traditional subscriptions didn’t work. Telavox, which is based on licenses that can be moved between users, suits us perfectly,” says Daniel.

The solution

“As a bonus, we got our costs under control and super-fast support,” says Daniel.

Pride is an organization with many young volunteers, and Daniel thinks he sees a clear difference between how different generations prefer to communicate.

Daniel also points out that everyone in the organization quickly learned to use Telavox. The intuitive and user-friendly interface made onboarding quick and smooth, even for those who were not so technically experienced.

“We had incredible support from our Customer Success Managers from Telavox. But we were able to do most of it on our own,” he says.

There were also a number of features in Telavox that turned out to be more appreciated than Daniel anticipated.

“With Telavox, for example, it’s easy to switch your profile from available to vacation. Perhaps this is a particularly important function when you work in a non-profit capacity and need to be able to take a break sometimes,” he says.

The result

Daniel emphasizes how easy it is to manage the administration with Telavox, both of licenses and of the switchboard itself.

“We can quickly and easily build our own responses, connections and groups. For a volunteer organization, that flexibility and simplicity is invaluable,” he says.

Daniel also sees the transparent business model and clear invoices as major advantages of Telavox.
