In the Telavox admin portal, you can add, cancel, rebind and upgrade phone licenses with just a few clicks. But what are licenses and how do they work? Here we go through the essentials.
In the Telavox admin portal, you can easily administer your telephony – all by yourself! As an administrator, it’s easy to move licenses, activate SIM cards, top up data and port numbers. But first of all: what are licenses?
What are licenses?
Licenses are completely independent of users and numbers, meaning they can be easily moved between users or terminated. Much more convenient than having to deal with personal subscriptions. If an employee leaves, it’s easy to terminate their license and assign it to a new colleague. Smart huh?

There are many advantages to managing your licenses yourself. You don’t have to contact an external party to make changes, which makes you much more flexible. Spend less time logging in and out of different platforms, and more on things that make a difference. It makes your business more efficient.
How it works
To manage your licenses, you just need to log in to the Telavox admin portal and click on Administration. At the bottom of the list you will find a new tab called Licenses.
Here is a clear overview of your company’s licenses: you can see how many licenses you have, whether they are fixed or not and what they cost. First the Fixed licenses are listed, then the Mobile licenses.
Add licenses
Have you grown and expanded your business? Then it might be time to add more phone licenses. Go to the license page and click on Buy. Here you choose how many and what type of licenses you want to buy: tied or untied.
Terminate licenses
Avoid unnecessary costs and cancel unused licenses. On the license page, click on the text Cancel licenses. Here you can see how many licenses can be canceled and what the change will be in cost per month.
Volume on licenses
In the admin portal you can also rebind your licenses. Go to Licenses and click on Rebind licenses. All licenses that can be rebind are listed here.
Upgrade from Fixed to Mobile
As your business needs change, your telephony needs to keep up. Do you have fixed telephony that needs to be extended with mobile telephony? No problem! On the license page, click on the Upgrade Fixed to Mobile button located under the list of Fixed licenses.
